I will admit that I was so frustrated with the whole font problem that I downloaded the free trial of photoshop and after hours of making up invites, rsvps, programs, etc... I checked it out at Staples and it works!

I just have to get everything done before the free trial ends! No pressure....

My first of many pomanders for my wedding!

Since our flowergirl is on the younger side and can't (sadly) throw pedals at the chuch, we wanted her to still have something that was cute, fun, and she could take home with her!

I started with a 4" ball and used about 3 total stems of flowers. I finished off the center of several flowers with small green and ivory 'berries' to mimic the hypericum berries that will be used in the center of our bouquets, bouts, and centerpieces.

You could wrap the wooden part with fabric of any color - a way to change the wood part without ruining it - and then put the candle back in the top section. Or you could buy a larger, flameless candle and use that instead.

I like the idea of using the open space as something functional. Or you could just put flowers under there to make it feel a little more lighter.

Two possibilities come to mind:

1. Soften it up by adding a wide silky ribbon in ivory or one of your wedding colors. Tie it just like a present, and make a big floppy bow on top. Place the candle in the center on top of the bow, or if that's too wobbly, then move the bow off-center so the candle can be centered like you have it in the picture. You could even keep those pastel beads on the candle if the bow is a pastel color to match.

2. Use the space inside as a slot to hold menus, programs, or music requests and pencils. That'll make it seem more like a functional piece than a modern art statement. Just make sure you cover the entire top of it so it doesn't look box-like. Top it with a poofy flower wreath, or drape a small place cloth over it and arrange three candles of different styles and heights on top.

Good luck!

I've been following any advice from the ladybees on DIY invites but I've come across a problem with my font.

I downloaded the font freebooter script (I have word 2000) from dafont.com for our names but I recently printed a sample of the invite I designed and the font prints out jagged!

So, I decided to DIY my favors and I'm going to be making coasters out of 4" what bathroom tile. I bought some cardstock to put on top and needed to get a stamp made with our monogram on it. So I checked around on the internet and the cheapest stamp I found was 37.95 (and it wasn't very big). Which granted I would probably get my 37.95 + S&H, but i decided to keep looking. I saw on here where someone had purchased a stamp on Etsy through seller MidTownTees. I am SO SO SO glad i contacted her! I got not 1 but 2 2 1/2" stamps for $30! So I went out today and bought a stamp pad so i could play around with them and this is what I got!! I am VERY glad I contacted her!! Just a little tip for some other DIY brides!! :)

Sorry for the horrible picture quality...took this with my cell phone since it's late and I didn't want to hunt down the camera! :)

I love lists.

I check them twice, re-organize them, and do a little Hammy “High 5!” when I cross things off. Itineraries? Love ’em . I like to know exactly where I’m going and when I’m going to be there. Checklists and worksheets? Up there with cookies (Okay, maybe not, but what really *is* up there with cookies?). So when it came time for my final dress search I wanted it to be just as logical and organized. The result?

The Hammy Dress Worksheet

(*Okay, so I don’t really want people to cry when they see me walk down the aisle, but I would be really touched if they did!)

Each member of my dress-judging committee received this worksheet and evaluated potential dresses based on both shazam-ness and tear-jerking strength. I even drew a basic silhouette of a trumpet gown to provide an area to visually capture dress detail, should the judge desire.

After recovering from roll-on-the-floor laughter induced by the ludicrousness of this worksheet, my friends actually filled it out! What started as a crazy little joke for myself actually turned out to be quite useful! Huzzah!

How did you approach your dress search?

I made these escort cards for my rehearsal dinner using regular cardstock, a paper cutter, and a heart-shaped hole punch. I used graph paper on my table to line up the rectangles I had cut from cardstock, and then scored a fold line using a bone folder and ruler. Since my handwriting isn't great, I printed the names on my home computer and used a paper cutter to get the cuts straight. It was so easy and I'm thrilled with the result!

I made these three sided menus for my rehearsal dinner using basic cardstock and my home printer. I made them so that each side contains something special: "Eat!" (the menu), "Drink!" (the beverage options) "And Be Married!" (a message from my in laws, the hosts).

Before I put the text for each side on, I used a bone folder and ruler to score 3 inch segments, leaving 2 inches at the end to double it over. Once I could see the scored sections, it made it easy to center the text on each of the three sides. Then, I taped it together using double sided tape.

Ok here are my two birdcage veils. The front veil is a bandeau (sp?) style veil that goes from ear to ear and comes just below my eyes and just above the end of my nose. The back veil is really just a short blusher, but I designed them so when my hair was done, they would look like one veil. The third picture, is the best picture I have of the flower. But I used Martha Stewart's Fabric Flower to make it: www.marthastewartweddings.com/article/fabric-garden-rose-and-peony-how-to

We found the vases at a store here in Broken Arrow called Old Time Pottery, I also know that they have one fairly close to the Overland Park area in KS as well...but we found them there and they were only 1.99 a piece! You could probably google the store and see if they have a location near you... :) Sorry it took me so long to reply!

I love what you did for the table numbers. Where did you get the metal holder to place the number in?
