Hi there.

Your pomanders DO look very real. I think the color really contributes to the fresh vibrant look. Beautiful! I was checking ebay on Clair's Flowers store .. and wondering which exact rose you purchased? I can't seem to find what might fall under the $38/300 Roses. Could you get back to me and let me know what to search for exactly? Thank you!

Mine was a 6 inch ball. I would say overall it's got about an 8 in diameter with the ribbon. It's not too big. I could definitely go bigger but then would have to buy a lot more ribbon. Only 11 more to go!

Here is my finished ribbon pomander! It definitely took a long time (about 7 hours while watching tv) and more ribbon than I thought but it turned out great!

sorry for the delay in response (been writing my thesis and got off track with wedding stuff)

glad you liked them, i was pretty proud of myself considering most DIY projects don't turn out that great first time around!!

@sally, i did use roses, in regards to daises, make sure you buy them from a reputable distributor/high quality

(i can just think of the daisies i see in ac moore/michaels and the like and the problem is the center of the flower is very apparent/would be easier to tell if it was real vs silk)

usually pomanders work best for flowers with lots of texture, even carnations could look awesome if you cram enough of them in

but daisies are cheap enough you could actually make real ones, just make sure to follow procedure for real flower pomanders, ie oasis wet floral foam/soaking it etc

Thanks so much for the step by step!! I wanted my flower girl to have a pomander and I love this idea! Might even have some made for my brdesmaids instead of bouquets to cut down on cost. Just hope mine turn out as nice as yours

I loved this immediately when I saw this project. We are getting married out of town, my fiance and i originally discussed making fresh pomander balls and found out how expensive and time consuming it would be. I read through these and found I could bulk order the supplies online and get everything fairly inexpensive. The only thing I did different was I took the 4" pieces of ribbon and hot glued them in a circle, it expedites the process and only takes 1 pin to secure it to the pomander.
