I put together my own bridal shower invitations because I can't leave it up to my mom. To add my personal touch, I focused on the address labels. Martha Stewart shares a folded address label that I downloaded for free. I saved on the cost by just picking paper with different brown tones and using my own printer, then cutting along the lines. Using the Martha Stewart lace edge punch, I made a little upgrade on the front of the address label. The labels were glued on the envelopes and folded over. Done one month ahead of schedule. I have complete instructions at www.inspiredhoneybee.blogspot.com.
I did something similar and had some of the labels rip off the front. Luckily the back with our return address stayed on and they were returned to us. Did you have this issue? What did you use for glue?
My fiance and I just made our mock-up of these! We used a silver metallic envelope and a violet linen cardstock (scrapbook paper) for the label. I used double-stick tape along all the sides of the label, and then an extra bit of white Elmer's glue across the lacy parts. When it dried, you couldn't even see it, and those suckers didn't BUDGE in the mail on its way back to us (I mailed one to myself after reading everyone's comments, thanks for that!)! I'm so happy with the way it turned out!

posted by kaymo 1 year agoHi - do these need to be hand cancelled? Have you tried to mail one to yourself to see what they look like on the other end?
