After several attempts this is the last one I think I am happy with it.
I used the left over envelopes to print our reception cards and then cut them to size. That way it would all be on the same kind of paper. (the invite paper is textured)
Takes a little practice if you want them perfect! but I didn't care as long as the D showed up.
you can but sticker stamps but they cost more than making them yourself.
1. I got the boxes from http://www.wildcatwholesale.com/ because the invites where long and would not fit in a regular A7 envelope box.
I used the stamp i had bought previously for the wedding programs to stamp the box and heat emboss it in gold.
2. Satin from Jo ann fabrics. (some time they will have a coupon or sale). I hot glue the satin into the box. That was kinda tricky.(I got burnt a lot at first lol) and glues ribbon to both side of the box under that satin to be able to tie a bow across the invite. This looks good I think and holds the invite in place in the box.
3. I got blank invites, wax for the seals, ribbon and craft paper from Michael's.
(i suggest doing this with a coupon that is 50% off an Item and making a couple of trips or if you can find one sometimes they will have 25% off total purchases).
4. wax stamp letter D I already had but you can get them from http://www.waxseals.com/index.shtml
or google wax seals and you'll find millions of places.
5. craft glue dots to hold on the ribbon with the D to the invite and the invite to the craft paper.
I hope it looks ok ... but i have a feeling postage is going to kill me.
Hi! These are so beautiful!! How many invitations did mail out? I love this idea but I'm trying to figure out how much it would be for everything for 180 people. Thanks so much! =)

posted by misssoniab 1 year agoI mailed around 56.....I think the satin makes the box heavy if you wanted to say some money you could use tissue paper.
