So it took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do. At first, I really wanted a manzanita tree centerpiece, but after looking at prices, we quickly realized we couldn't. Then we wanted to attach these balloon lanterns to bamboo sticks, but we couldnt find vases that we liked. So this is our end result.
All together it cost us $3.30/ centerpiece
8'' balloon lanters on sale for $1 each
Candle holder (on the inside, stabalizing the lantern and holding the greenery) .57 ea
Tissue paper (made all 30 of them for $1)
Assorted greenery $1.50 each
Battery candle (inside lantern) .25 each
So for 30 tables we spent $100, not too bad if I do say so myself. I think I have to play around with the arrangement and maybe make the tissue paper look more flower-like, but I think this is a great centerpiece for a budget wedding.
I do agree that the tissue paper definitely needs to look more like flowers so if you have time on your hands ( or many friends to help) I would suggest doing something like this with the tissue paper. Or this. Or my favorite, a variation of this.
