Here are the vases I made out of birchbark that my parents collected in the woods for me! It was alot cheaper than paying the florist, so now I only have to pay her to put the flowers in. I wrapped the birchbark around mason jars and glued with a hot glue gun! Fun and Cheap!
No way! This is awesome and perfect for an outdoor or rustic or eco-friendly themed wedding!!! Fabulous and cozy idea. I can imagine how they must look lit. I almost want to do that just to take to the cottage as my cottage decor ;)
What kind of flowers are you putting in them? I like the look of these but I'm not sure if the flowers we are thinking of using for our centerpieces will work or no so I was just curious what kind you are using? I really like these though.
We are using dark purple carnations, green spider mums, green salal, buttom mums in white and green and white gerbera daisies...those are the flowers that my florist suggested. I think you can make almost any flower look good in these! I have since wrapped a purple ribbon around the middle of the vases.
sorry i did not follow up on this thread!!! I actually got my birch bark for free in the bush. My parents went for hikes and found it for me. I have noticed it being really expensive online, and my florist was going to charge alot for vases like these, which is why we collected it ourselves. We live in northern ontario though, not sure how easy it is to find elsewhere. I would offer to sell, but our centrepieces are being given away for each table. Best of luck!
