These are bridal shower inviations I created for a friends bridal shower. The packet includes: the is two sidesd invitation(the back has gift suggestions and instruction for completeing the recipe card.), recipe card for guest to complete and bring to the shower, and a scratch off tag that will releave the "time" that they have been assigned:
I am doing a bit of twist on an "around the clock" shower. I made the tags, and used a scratch off sticker that I cut to the desired shape and size for the graphic. Each tag says something like time to get up, dinner time, time to tidy up etc.
The idea was to keep the times more broad and to try to keep in the retro theme.
I actually purchased the (EPS) files for the clipart at www.retroart.com/. I wanted the clipart to be print quality and have a transparent background so I could put it on any color and not have a big white square round it.
The EPS files are a bit more costly but so worth it when you consider the time to remove the white background of jpg or gif files.
Take a look at retroart...they have a HUGE selection of clipart.
Good luck with your sister in laws shower. I'm sure it will be a huge success!
Did you do this in illustrator? It is simply divine! I am in love with this! I am new to the board and new to the DIY projects - although I've been an avid scrapbooker for years, I want to learn the tricks of digital to help cut down on the amount of paper I use and in the end - and also some time and money :) Do you have any suggestions in how to learn adobe illustrator - or tutorials?
Thanks for compliments ladies! The shower was Saturday and turned out amazing! I will post some more pictures shortly.

I actually did all of this in Photoshop as I too have limited experience with Illustrator.
The best advice I can give you is to get the program and experiment! I have found that tutorials are great (google them you will find tons of them) but nothing can take the place of simply playing with different things until you find the right combinations for what you are working on. With a bit or playing and experimenting you'll be creating awesome things in no time!

posted by Anneliz28 2 years agoIt looks like she's doing a "time" theme for the gifts. It probably says please bring a gift appropriate for 5pm or cooking. Or party time.

posted by Jaclyn@Bash 2 years agoLove this! Where did you get your clipart!? This would be perfect for the bridal shower I'm throwing for my sister-in-law...
I wanted to go with a yellow theme... but putting a little retro into it would be awesome!
Thanks!
