Catholic Wedding Program For A Full Mass

Here's my quick and easy program for a Catholic wedding with a full mass. Just substitute your own names and information and add any graphics you might desire for decoration.

Materials needed:

  • 1 sheet of letter-sized paper (8.5 x 11 inches) to print text on (I chose cream colored) per program
  • 1 sheet of letter-sized paper (8.5 x 11 inches) for the cover (any color) per program
  • Printer (any kind, but easiest if it prints double-sided)
  • Embroidery needle (optional)
  • Ribbon (optional)

Note on customizing the wedding party page for various family arrangements: We had sets of parents who were still married and some who had divorced, so those who weren't still together were listed on separate lines. But if both your parents are still married you could easily say: "Parents of the bride" and "Parents of the groom." Other variations might be "Mother and Father of the Bride," "Mother of the Groom," and "Father and Step-Mother of the Groom."

Instructions:

  • Customize the templates with your information and graphics (if desired)
  • Set your printer to print double sided (if possible--otherwise you will have to feed the sheet through twice)
  • Print all the cover pages first on your cover page paper. The cover should print on the right-hand side of the page.
  • Print all the text pages next. The program will fit on one sheet, front and back. The margins are set very small, but it should still work to print it. If you're feeding it through the printer twice to print double sided, make sure the page orientation is correct.
  • Fold the cover sheet and the text sheet in half to make a booklet
  • As an optional step, sew the two pages together. Use an embroidery needle to make two holes on the fold, and then thread a skinny ribbon through the holes and tie in a bow on the outside to finish.
  • Add any other embellishments (I used gel pens to add color to the covers, which I printed in black and white).

See my finished programs below! Feel free to post any questions or comments here or PM me with questions.

Thanks so much for sharing this!

It's way too early for me but I'm keeping this in mind for later!  It is really pretty too!

I love this template! Thanks for posting. Question- where did you get the floral graphic that is on the inside? Thanks!

@AnamCara, thank you for your compliments!

@lawa306, the flowers and birds graphics were all hand-drawn by my sister, Talia Bromstad, who is an artist. She designed my invitations too with the same motifs and printed them with letterpress herself. If you're interested in her work, you should contact her! Here is her website, taking you directly to wedding invite examples: http://www.flockofgoose.com/wedding.html

The cross graphic on one of the pages was from the clip art in Microsoft Word.

hey! this is great but when i print it out double-sided, half of it is oriented upside down!! what am I doing wrong?

Egads! I think it's coming out upside down because of your print settings. I am not sure how to change it....but it's the settings on your computer, not the file itself.

If worse comes to worst, you could always print one side at a time and re-feed!

Thank you so much for posting this!  I was looking all over for this on the internet when, of course, I should've known it was right here on wedding bee!

My FI's family and (quite a few) of his friends are not Catholic - do you think it would be appropriate to put in "Please kneel" or "Please stand" or do you think they'd get it from watching everyone else?

I don't want anyone being poked in the back and being called a "damn Protestant"!  LOL!

I am having a hard time finding a good program template for a catholic with full mass.  I am a converted catholic and my fiancee is a life long catholic.  I want to have everything laid out so that my protestant family can follow along without being confused, or lost.  Anyone out there have any good ideas?

I just happened upon this post while searching for program templates for my upcoming wedding. I downloaded your templates, which are beautiful, and then I noticed that you have St. Brigid Catholic Church in Alpharetta on the cover! If that is actually where you got married, I am getting married at the VERY SAME CHURCH at the end of this month!! What a small world!!!! It is a beautiful church and we are so excited to have our wedding there. :)
