Here is a clip-on crystal bow I made to go with my shoe! I am probably going to wear it in the front. I am sooo excited!

Hello bees~here is my most recent DIY project. I found a way to get my DREAM shoes, some Christian Louboutin Fifi Strass heels, without shelling out over $3,000 (which would have been close to impossible). I did it by DIYing it! Yay to all things DIY!
Tada! After 20 hours of back-breaking work, here is ONE shoe:
The first picture is to show the details, and the second one is to show the sparkle! It's really hard to try and photograph "sparkle" like a swarovski crystal heel, and pictures really do not do these shoes justice!
These shoes are still really expensive, especially because I decided to go with real Christian Louboutins. I normally don't buy shoes this expensive, so I was pretty nervous about doing these myself since I did not know how they would come out.
I bought some swarovski crystals from a crystal wholesale store for really cheap (swarovski crystals can cost about $5 for 24 at Michaels, but I got 144 for about $4.60 in downtown LA). I spent about $300 total for genuine swarovski crystals, and then I bought some Christian Louboutin shoes from Barneys New York to strass in pale gold.
The glue I used was E6000, and the color is AB for the swarovski crystals. There are over 3,000 genuine swarovski crystals on this shoe. This project is DEFINITELY labor intensive.
The total for my shoe was still about $1,000, which is a lot, but compared to the $3,000 for the actual fifi strass by Christian Louboutin, this price seemed like a steal!
I am now working on the other shoe but I was so excited about this project that I had to post after just the one shoe! I can't believe I'm getting my dream wedding heels!
OMG I wanted these shoes but they were not in my budget. You did an awesome job... how did you do it? What size crystals did you use?? also were the shoes leather or the patent leather?... I have to do this on watevr shoes I buy!!
I found these in a magazine when i FIRST got engaged, and I Lovvvved them. I was trying to figure out how to convince the fiance that I needed them...he didnt believe me.
So tell me everything. haha I need to know how you made them, and what exactly you used!
I also used the e6000 glue, a glue syringe, a skinny stick, and some wall-mount tacky that I stuck on the stick to pick up each rhinestone with. You use the syringe to lay down the glue, and then you pick up each rhinestone with the stick and place it on the glue. E6000 is great, but the fumes are toxic so this should be done in a well-ventilated area.
It does take some practice at first, so you might want to test it out on some blanks first. The swarovskis are cheapest on Firemountaingems.com from what I've seen online, but if you live close to LA you might want to drive down to fashion district to by them instead since there are a lot of places there that sell these crystals en masse.
Those are my absolute favorite Louboutin shoes and you did a fabulous job recreating them. Yeah, $1000 is pricey, but not nearly as pricey as $3K. GREAT job! I'm so in awe over here!
omg- love! they look amazing! how did you work out where you would put what size crystals? for someone who wants to attempt this project, about how many swarovski crystals do you recommend starting with? i'd love to do this!
