These were super inexpensive & quick to make. The glass vases, mirrors and flowers were all purchased from the Dollar Tree for $1 each. The flowers actually came off a Hawaiian Lei that I took apart. And the lighting is a submersible led light. I already had some laying around the house, but I've seen them on eBay - a dozen for $15. These will be on a white table cloth (that isn't wrinkled like it looks in the photo). Just place the light in the vase, add water and then place the flowers in the water.
Did you get the LED light from Dollar Tree too?
These are beautiful! I was wondering if you had any problems with the flowers not wanting to stay submerged? Thanks for sharing!
Thank you all very much!!!
@ futuremrsjobe: No, I didn't buy them from the Dollar Tree. I had them from a prior flower arrangement so just reused them. They are actually a purple light, but you can't really tell with the flowers as it makes them look just white. Try eBay; but I believe Michaels even sells them.
@ lovebug2222: They actually stayed in the water very well. When I first put them in, I had to 'fluff' them up a bit, but they pretty much stayed in their position the whole time I was testing it (5 hours).
Thanks so much! I absolutely love them and I hope I am able to do something similar for my own centerpieces!
You are very welcome - it is amazing what you can find at a Dollar Tree. I'm sure whatever you end up with will be wonderful.
Was the light obvious to see? All the instructions I have seen on these say to use washers/sinkers to keep them under water but yours look like you didn't and no need for river rocks that way.
You can get the submersible lights cheaper at Michaels, they sell a 12 pack for $19.99, use your 40% or 50% off coupon from their sales ad and its cheaper than the prices from ebay. So far I have only bought one 12 pack of ligts in purple, and a 50% off coupon paid $9.99 plus tax. I will need 1-2 more packs, wich I will buy one at a time using a coupon. I plan on re-selling the lights cheap as used after my wedding on here, and craigslist.
What's the dimension for your vase in this pic? The ones i saw at dollar tree are 7" tall and 3"wide..i feel like its too small. Thanks for sharing!
