Hello fellow bee's! I was trying to perfect paper flowers to make my pomander balls. I wanted something a little more ornate. I tried tissue but honestly I am a dork and I kept tearing the tissue paper wen I was puffing them out. Lol. So I decided to try them with streamer paper. It's much more forgiving and you can mold it to look moore realistic. I am not going to lie these take a bit more time but I think they are worth it! Also you can curl the ends under (if you wanna be fancy and make them look more realistic).
First these are the supplies I used (most from dollar tree)
Crepe paper streamers $1.00
Floral wire $1.00
scissors
needle nose pliers
thin paint brush or toothpick
First measure a strip about 4-5 inches long
Fold over 4 times
Cut end
You will need two of these. Then fold in half long ways. Snip ends round or a slight heart shape.
Then cinch middle and wrap wire then lay the other over like a cross wire again. then we ned to make the middle. Take a piece of the paper and wrap it around a tooth pick or end of a small paint brush to make the middle.
Snip and wire in middle. Then wrap the wire facing the back.
Take the petals and alternativly fluff out using your finger to mold around like a real flower. Then you are finished. You can wrap floral tape around to make a stem or pok into a styrofaom ball to make a pomander. I will update one I finish my pomander ball!! Hope you guys like!!!!
Curling the edges.... best done with a tooth pick... I didn't have one so I used the end of the paint brush.
Thank you guys! I am using them to make my pomander balls! I am now learning how to make the Martha Stewart flowers from the coffee filters. Once I got the hang of it I will post those too! :)
How do you plan on storing these so that they don't fade or get dusty? I am doing something similar for my wedding and am not sure how to keep mine from getting smooshed!
