It's not quite done...im hesitant to put the slots in for the cards...I want to put them through the top, however Mr.Seabass thinks there should be a slot lower also to avoid cards getting jammed.
I bought all the boxes from Michael's when they were 40% off they have designs on them but once you wrap them you cant tell. The damask pattern is actually a wrapping paper that Michael's sells. (I bought one roll for this project)
I went to the ribbon isle and matched the width of the tops of the boxes...if the ribbon is a little wider the the rim of the top its ok just place it to where the extra will be near the bottom.
I used craft spray glue to attach the paper to the boxes and then some scrapbooking glue for the ribbons but any craft glue will work.
I found the the letters in the scarpbooking isles too.
Good luck let me know if you have any other questions.
I'll post more pis when I become brave enough to cut the card slots.
Wow those are my colors too... Funny! I found some damask and tiffany blue wrapping paper at Dollar Tree and Michaels. My mom is doing my box but mine is square like my cake. Your's is very pretty.
How much does something like this run? I have looked on etsy and thought the prices are so much higher then you could make yourself. However, I am not sure how much the boxes cost.
@ ms.andreanna~ thanks they had blue wrapping paper that is slightly lighter than tiffanys blue but it was clearanced for a dollar so i got a few rolls..thinking of using it for my escort card board which I have yet to make but will post pics when i do.
@ Nola~ it can depend how carried away you get with these boxes but I'd say I spent MAYBE $25 dollars for everything. Always use coupons when you go to michaels you can save so much. I got the boxes when they were 40% off but you could always look for square boxes around your house that other things might come in for the wedding. Good luck!
