I just finished making these bridesmaid invites, and I just can't wait to get them in the mail! I pretty much took a bunch of ideas I got from doing a "DIY bridesmaid invite" seach on google. One of these ideas was the paper dolls linked in a chain. Instead of chaining all of the bridesmaids together like some others have done, I chose to link the bride doll to one bridesmaid doll. As you can see I am planning on having quite a few bridesmaids!
The Dessy Group, http://www.dessy.com/diy-bridesmaid-cards/, has some really cute printable images, and I took one they offered with three bridesmaid on the front. I printed this image out and traced each girl to create paper doll templates. I used a manila folder because I wanted somthing thick to use for the stencil templates (obviously you could use card stock too :). I had to trace the body, dress, and then hair of each one. I then created my own wedding dress, and a few additional hair styles to match my real bridesmaids. I also attached a magnet strip to the backs of each so they can be displayed on a refrigerator, file cabinet, or whatever...
I created the invites in WORD, again using free images I had found on the internet. I also found the wording for each card online as well.
Love these! Wish I had seen them before I sent out my bridemaid cards. I just created a simple card with a personal message asking them to participate. Super cute design! :)
