I was waiting (or rather putting off buying a ring pillow and flower basket it was just one of the things i was like whatsever) but after I seen this pic. I felt inspired.
I tracked down where the pic came from.
Its from a fellow ETSY seller.
I looked at her other pillow that where all gorgeous buy way out of my ring pillow budget.
So I decided to try to make something myself and came up with this.
First i went to Jo-ann fabric and bought some supplies.
i bought 2 yards of white trim (i didn't end up needing 2 yd I think one would have been fine) @ $2.99
one yard of white pearl strain (that was perfect for pillow and basket) @ $1.19.
2 rose clips @ $1.39 ( I now think that these maybe too yellow for me...so I might try to find white-er flowers)
purple ribbon @ $1.99 (I already got this from michaels)
Crystal buttons @ $2.50 a button
last but not least the pillow (from michaels on sale) @ $3.79
(I also got the basket from michaels on sale fro 6 dollars).
I cut the ribbon off the pillow and add the trim I bought with a hot glue gun.
Then add the purple ribbon and the strain of pearls with small dots of glue every 2 inches.
I pulled apart the flowers and put the back together.
One on a cardboard circle for the flower basket. Because after i made the other flower lose for the pillow it looked to big for the basket so i just made it tighter looking.
I add string for the rings and the left over pearls i had.
for a grand total of $21.75 for both the ring pillow and the basket.
Thats a win for the budget that i have blown twice!
(I will post pics of the basket when it is done).
That dose not include the cost of 1 button (cause i bought 3 but only used 2)
The ribbon from michaels for $1.99 cause I already had that
and one yard of the fabric trim @ $2.99 a yd (cause I bought 2 and only used 1)
So classy and sophisticated! Im totally into it! Im DIY-ing my pillow too. In fact, I just bought my brown pillow at michaels awhile ago @ $4.99 on sale. Since, my wedding isn't until sept.2011, I'll buy a huge apple green flower clip closer to the date.
