DIY ROUND MENU

posted 2 years ago in Menus

How did you cut these out?  What did you use to make a perfectly round circle?  Do you have the template that you used for the menu itself?

To cut the outer circle, I used a circle cutter (that goes up to 6") as the outer dark brown layer was 6" in diameter.

The cream layer with the menu itself on it, was is part of the Your Truly paper line carried by Archievers.  I purchased these, designed the menu, printed it on my laser printer, adhered the menu to the dark brown layer, and added a few rhinestones for a little sparkle and stood back to admire the resultsLaughing

I can send you the template that I used or you can also download the 5.34" circle note template from Archivers at this link http://www.archiversonline.com/templates/CircleCardTemplate.doc

It was a bit tricky to use the template in fact it was down right frustrating and ate up a LOT of time.  I had to make several drafts to get the menu to actually fit on the circle properly (one side or the other was always off the silly thing at first).  I'd be happy to send you my copy in Word if you'd like just post your email for me.

Good Luck!

I think that you accidentally uploaded the wrong template.  It says something about a 40th birthday party?  I'd love to see the one you used for this!  it looks amazing! :)

I am attaching my copy of the template for the menu for everyone.  I used the same template that is found at the Archiever's link above but added the menu information rather than the birthday party information on the Archiever's template.

I simply put the information on the circle template, then ran the 5.5' circle paper through my laser printer to print the completed menu.  Once the menu is printed assembly is as follows:

  • Cut a 6" circle from your choice of cardstock
  • Adhere the 5.5" card with the menu using an E-Z Runner adhesive (a strong scrapbook adhesive in a cartride similar to white out) or another adhesive.  Do not use regular glue as it is to wet and will make the paper curl
  • Add other embellishments as desired.  We added to rhinestones to the "y" on the last names, and one to each of the doodles that separate the cake flavors.

Please let me know if you have any questions I have not answered. I'd be happy to try to help if you have trouble.

Hi, what is a circle cutter? Can i be bought at a Jo-Anns or Michaels? Thanks :-)

The circle cutter is simply a tool that you could buy at JoAnn's or Micheal's.  Here is a link to a video showing how to use the Martha Stewart one:

Here is a link to a video for the Fiskar brand:

I used both the martha and a fiskar one.  The Martha one was really easy to use, the Fiskar one was a bit more challenging to line up to the right size until you got the hang of it. Another pointer is that a glass cutting matt works best, especially if your paper is thick.

Hope this help you!
