Our save the dates aren't quite done (this was just a test batch), but I am too excited not to share. I can't wait to send these out to our family and friends once I make a few tweaks. I hope they love them as much as I do :)
I have been searching for the perfect Save the Date idea and I think this one wins! Will you please email me the template to tyroneandrhenea@gmail.com Thank you in advance!
Yes! I would also like to know how this was done: I would like to make white sox baseball tickets but at least this will get me started! If you could please share :) stephanie3839@yahoo.com thanks!
Thanks, ladies! I spent a good amount of time on them so it's always nice to hear other people's thoughts (especially the good ones). I'm going to be sending you all the file I created via email, but wanted to give other folks an idea of what I did in case they are curious:
I was first inspired by this lovely Bee who created an amazing concert ticket save the date. Unfortunately, I stumbled upon her post a few years late and wasn't able to contact her about her template. Instead, I used the photo she provided and the dimensions of an actual Ticketmaster ticket to plot everything out in Publisher. I then went a bit crazy with text boxes, inserting shapes and images (thank you google for the barcode), a few lines here are there, and layering until everything looked about right.
Next, I grouped all the images, saved it all as a PDF (5 tickets/page), and printed a test copy just to be sure everything looked as good on paper as it did on my computer screen. Happily it did - which was a relief since I was a little worried some of the fonts were a bit small. I then did a second test batch on white cardstock. I printed the ticket image on one side, flipped the paper over and printed the back (don't mind the typo - I already fixed it for the final round):
The cassette tape images are actually a free font I downloaded from dafont.com called Beatbox by Mathew Taft. I just created the running text in word across the whole page, saved it as a PDF for printing, and used my paper cutter to cut out the tickets.
And BAM! Save the dates!
(Sorry for the slightly fuzzy photo - I just wanted to let people see the various wording we used for each of our parties.)
