posted 1 year ago in Favors

I wanted to make some seashell candies as favors for our guests. Here are some of the chocolate melts I used...all ready in their bag to go into the microwave.

I love these! I'm making them for our wedding, using "musical" shapes.  Only I'm really nervous about it. Were the swirls hard to make?

I saw these at Michaels and was thinking about doing them. Does it end up being expensive? How many chocolates (or trays) could you make with one bag of chocolate?

Yours looks great btw!!

Thanks :-)

@ms.guitar.  The swirls weren't too difficult to do. I used a tooth pick and just kinda played around with the first batch to see how to get the effect I wanted. It was pretty easy after that

@amyanne02 It's not too expensive. I got a pack of the favor tulle circles from the dollar store. There are 15 in a pack for a $1.00. The candy mold was $2.00 at michaels. It has 11 cavaties to fill in 1 mold. The melting chocolate bags i think were $4.00 and the Candy I bought in Bulk at Wegmans came out to be $10.00. The favor tags i got on sale cheap and I used left over rafia from another project to tie them. I put 6 pieces of chocolate in 1 tulle circle.

I went to Michaels today (we dont have a Wegmans) such a price difference between Canada and the US.

for one tray was $4.00, and each bag of chocolate was $4.00

I may have to make a trip down to the states.

these are super pretty! i am using the same candy chips but for some reason cannot get them so be as shiny as yours. Did you put anything else in besides the candy melts? Thanks!

@smvanillalatte Thank you!  The only thing I used was the candy melts

How far in advance can you do this?  They look AMAZING!!

I made these about two and a half months before our wedding. I read that if you put chocolate in a closed container at room tempature, the chocolate lasts about 8 months. Don't put chocolate in the freezer because it will change the taste and apperance.
