Escort Cards on ribbon, rows strung between two bamboo poles outdoors

I love this idea and would like to use it for our outdoor wedding this August!!  Do you have any tips - like how you kept the ribbon from sliding down the poles and how you put the poles in the ground?  Thanks so much!!
