my sister didn't want programs initially, but then decided due to uncertain weather end of August we needed to have the fans. we only printed on one side and then used a mixture of scrap book paper for the other. i used the template to print on cardstock (80lb or 60lb) both sides - getting two fans out of one piece of paper. then i used spray glue to glue the cardstock to the scrapbook paper (only glueing about 50% of the fan together, leaving room to insert the stick later). some of our paper wouldn't stick, don't know why and i had to reglue over 50% of the fans. we painted the sticks black with cheap spray paint. only because the paper was light colored, we left on one side 2" of unpainted wood for the text side. we cut out the fans out, inserted the sticks and used elmers to finish glueing it all together. i like the idea of using double sided tape along the edges instead. next time i would find something else to use instead of the spray glue. i used gold spray glitter to finish it off. the template is ment to be text on both sides and you fold over the template, so one piece of paper makes one fan. but its adaptable.
all of the paper came from Hobby Lobby, JoAnns fabrics or Michaels. We just bought the large sheets, you can get two per sheet. I don't remember where exactly, but I know it wasn't JoAnns. I think Michaels.
