used a hairpiece base from Hobby Lobby (it's like a square plastic thing that you can decorate for headbands, hair clips etc.). I also used three peacock eye feathers per piece, and several small peacock plumage feathers. Those are the ones between the eye feathers and the rhinestones.
The only thing I can say is that hot glue works much better if you are using feathers. I tried regular clear craft glue but it didnt hold up. Also I should've used smaller rhinestones, to make it look more elegant.
@ SMK1188 I trimmed them myself, it is pretty easy but requires patience! haha. But actually I got my feathers online at www.featherstore.com, they have all kinds of different sizes, price is good and the quality of the feathers is excellent. Much better than anything I have found at Hobby Lobby or Joann's.
I only payed $54 dollars for 100 peacock eye feathers, 100 peacock sword feathers and 100 peacock plumage feathers (and UPS 5 day shipping), so it was a really good deal!
