Flip cap BOUQUET COMPLETED!!!

posted 1 year ago in Flowers

So-I know many of you saw my flip-cap flower DIY already, and many of you were looking forward to seeing a whole bouquet made. So here I have for you-FLIP CAP BOUQUET!!!

Photos taken (and edited) by myself.

For those of you interested in seeing the old post, it is here:

I'm going to start off with the ending of my old post: look at all the flowers!

Now for step two: taking all of your pretties and making them into one!

First, you need your materials:

The flowers you've made (once again, if you have questions or don't remember, look at the previous post)

Additional big caps for flower backs

Hammer

Floral wire

Rubberbands/string

Ribbon/wrapping fabric

Needles

So here's what you do:

By trial and error, I discovered that in order for the wire to secure to the flower backs without difficulty and capable of still looking pretty, another large cap was needed. Take these designated caps and hammer a hole smack in the center, large enough for your wire to go through.

It's really pretty straight forward from there. Thread the wire, kink the wire so it stays in place, and hot glue that bad boy in place! See the pic above for what it should look like.

Make lots of these.

Then arrange, using string/rubberbands to keep to gether, and finally wrap in fabric/ribbon and secure with pins.

Another look at the finished product:

Now-for those of you who either don't have the time, the caps, or the desire to make this yourself, but you love it anyway: I do make these now. I had to start buying some caps in order to get enough of certain colors (for example, my hospital has ZERO pink caps, but people still want them). I definitely encourage you to make these yourselves if you have the willpower and means, but if not, I'm here for you at:

This bouquet pictured was made completely from caps from the hospital where I work (yay reusing!), and took me somewhere between 3-5 hours to make (there was a lot of Moulin Rouge going on in the background, along with other chick flicks).

Thanks for reading my post-I hope it's helpful!

These are adorable, and I love how you're recycling the caps from work. Are you going to use these bouquets at your own wedding? The flowers would look great attached to escort cards too. And they make for very colorful decorations!

Yes, I think I will use these in my own wedding...which will be super exciting (plus it will save us a bundle on flowers)!

Thanks for your thoughts ladies!

Any chance I could buy some of the caps off of you? I'd love to make name badge holders for my girls with these, since they're all in medical fields of some sort. But I'm not, so I don't have access to the caps. Haha.

where would you get these caps? What are they used for in everyday life? I know you said you got them from the hospital. What were they from? Sorry. I have seen them before but I just don't know where everyone is getting these great caps.

I'm a nurse and LOVE this idea... I go through so many of these a night. What a great way to re-use them!

For anyone that needs caps...I have 1 lb of them....all colors but mostly grey, yellow, some blues, purples, orange, and reds, a few pink, white, navy blue,  and light green.

Make an offer...shouldn't be much to ship!
