So I was inspired by some other bees who made their own aisle runners with rose petals.... I kind of regret starting this project because it has been a crazy time waster, but now that I'm getting close to the end I'm so happy I did it. What do you guys think? Worth the effort??? I have probably put about 40 hours into it already? Many of those hours my wonderful fiance was by my side hot gluing the tens of THOUSANDS of petals on!!! Also, I couldn't find the champagne colour that I wanted for the contrasting petals, so I have been spray painting them before gluing them down. Again, when we first got engaged, we had over a year before the wedding and this seemed like a time consuming, but worth it project! Now that we are nearing 6 months away and I'm not done - it's starting to feel like maybe a bad idea LOL oh well - we've made it this far!
Here was the beginning!
And here is where we are at today:
It's taken a long time and over 10,000 petals (bought on ebay from Hong Kong for super cheap...but they smell bad at first LOL)
Soon2BeMrs7913: LOL I DID almost give up after the white swirls however, I bought a super cheap runner (like $7) thinking I was covering it all and my cats thought this was the most fun thing to play on EVER while I was working on it so there are little knicks and holes here and there so I decided I couldn't leave it the way it was. Too bad LOL
It's beautiful!!! did you free hand the swirls? I've looked online for templates but had no luck. Also, where did you buy the runner if you don't mind me asking? It really is beautiful... job well done.
