Glitter Wine Glass Candle Holders

posted 5 months ago in Centerpiece

So I've been looking around on wedding bee for a couple of months now.  I saw a few posts and combined them together to make my own centerpieces, let me know what you think.  Hopefully my pics upload.

Wine glasses purchased at the local Goodwill outlet for 39 cents a pound, then painted with decoupage glue (glossy) and then sprinkled glitter and covered them.  I let them dry and then repainted with the decoupage glue so the glue didn't come off everywhere!!Glitter Wine Glass Candle Holders : wedding candles diy glitter bling red wine glass cheap recycle reception IMG 0624Glitter Wine Glass Candle Holders : wedding candles diy glitter bling red wine glass cheap recycle reception IMG 0625Glitter Wine Glass Candle Holders : wedding candles diy glitter bling red wine glass cheap recycle reception IMG 0626Glitter Wine Glass Candle Holders : wedding candles diy glitter bling red wine glass cheap recycle reception IMG 0627Glitter Wine Glass Candle Holders : wedding candles diy glitter bling red wine glass cheap recycle reception IMG 0548

very cute!!!  I did a similar project to some glass tealight holders I got at the dollar tree.  Aprox how many glasses were you able to get per pound at goodwill?

Maybe $30 for all the wineglasses and I have more than one hundred.  I have also bought vases for the flowers, and ribbon bowls.  We are on a strict budget so I have had to be creative.

Only one hundred more to do!!

Hi ladies!!  All of my glasses do not match and since I've posted this I have done some in silver and gold glitter too.  I am working on sealing them with a spray instead.  Make sure you let the glue completely completely dry before you put the sealer glue on there or they will look gloppy.  I have brandy snifters, champagne flutes, etc.  It looks much better with different heights rather than being all the same.

I'll let you know how the spray works out, I'm using the glue to put on first and then spray to seal, but it comes off.

Oh and the best glue that dries clearer is the cheaper glue on the bottom shelf at Michael's   Use the coupons from paper or sign up for email and this won't cost you hardly anything!

Can you show your mock up centerpiece using the glasses? I'd love to see how you plan to use them! THANK YOU!
