So I knew that I definitelty did not want a typical guest book. I wanted something more creative. I did some searching online and came across the idea of "the key to a successful marriage". I took that idea and ran with it......First I went to Hobby Lobby to get some ideas on how to execute this. I came across this amazing wooden chest ($20.00) and old antique looking keys ($11.00). I thought they would make for a cute display for our rustic themed wedding. Then I bought ivory colored cardstock, a cute stamp from Michaels, and supplies to emboss the stamp. Our guests will write what they think "the key to a successful marriage" is on the embossed ans put it in the chest when they are done. After the wedding I plan on displaying the chest full of messages in our house. I
Super cute idea! Looks great!
love it! I am doing the same thing only i never found such an awesome chest at hoby lobby. I wil be on the search for the same one :) thanks for sharing!
Love it! I was thinking of using this as a cardbox design, never thought of it as a guestbook...
oh I love this idea! that would be so fun reading when you get back from your honey moon.
This is SO cute! I love unique ideas like this! We're doing a "sign-the-leaf" tree that we can display at home once it's filled out, but I love something like this too! So much more personal than a regular guestbook, and so much more personal. Might have to copy this idea.
i am in love with this idea!!!
this is perfect for our wedding i think i might try it :D
Thanks ladies! Go for it Cassandra102012!! You can find everything you need at Hobby Lobby = ) I will say the embossing took a long time, but I think it was def. worth it.
how did you emboss?!
Embossing is super easy! (I'm kind of obsessed with it...it makes everything look SO nice).I also embossed my diy menu cards, and the bags for the candy bar bags All you need is a rubber stamp. I think the key stamp I used was around $6.00 at Michaels. Then all you need is embossing ink (it looks like a stamp pad), embossing powder in the color you want, and the heat tool. Happy embossing = )
I LOVE the box... what a great idea!
