I was asked to write a DIY for the bows on my card box, so here goes...

Start with two strips of satin ribbon - I used 1 1/2" on my card box, but for the tutorial, I only had 3/4" on hand...

Loop one piece of ribbons, so that the ends overlap about 1/4", and center the overlap so that it forms two equal sides.

repeat with the second piece of ribbon...

Criss-cross two pieces of ribbon and sew together - adorn with a button of your choosing :)

They really are super easy, and obviously, with thicker ribbon, they create a really nice piece.  I was thinking last night as I was writing this all up, that the thinner ribbon might be nice if you did three or four pieces of ribbon and made it more full and almost flower-like...alas, I don't have a need for that in my wedding, so I need to stop thinking about it before I find a need and end up making a million of them :)

As beautiful as the bow turned out you would think it was really complicated.  Even I could do this!  Thanks.

Thanks for the tutorial!! I wanted to add something to my box that wasn't a flower, I'm going to make this with red ribbon (my colours are Red, Black and Gold accents).
