More OOT bag fun! The very first wedding-related purchase that I made was for custom snowflake-shaped marshmallows from an etsy vendor, DeidreWood. They were so adorable, that I instantly fell in love. Can you blame me:
Hello, Lovely!
Well, I instantly decided that these little yummies would feature prominently in our OOT bags. And what could I possibly pack to go with them? Well, hot cocoa of course. But if you're at all familiar with any of my other DIY posts, I cannot leave well enough alone. In fact, if "well enough" were a person, I'd be a stalker and probably have a restraining order against me. That's how much I can't leave it alone!
So I quickly set about to re-package cocoa packets in a cute and custom way. The answer was white pillow boxes from Nashville Wraps. They are the perfect fit for 2 Land O' Lakes gourmet cocoa mixes. I ordered the holiday assortment to make them even more festive.
The best part about this project? I even got a little help. Look, it's Mr. 5642, diligently packing up cocoa:
After all the pillow boxes were packed. I printed the labels on glossy photo paper and trimmed them to size. Using my ever-present Xyron machine (which is my current fave paper crafting tool), I ran all the labels through to make them adhesive:
I wrapped blue or brown ribbon around the box, making sure that the ends met on the front of the box where they would be hidden by the label:
After I affixed the label, that was that... voila, a lovely little package of cocoa cuteness:
I think it's time for me to admit that I have invested waaaay too much time into our OOT bags. I guess I'm lucky. My mom is so dedicated to a lot of the wedding details that it allows me free time to work on fun projects like this. I'm very grateful to her for taking the reigns. She's an accountant, so she's a pro at organization.
The funniest part is that I'm still not done with all these crazy projects. I've completed lip balm labels, one OOT booklet (14 to go!), cute little cookie cozies, customized water bottles, and I've collected and packaged all the informational brochures and postcards. And yet, I still want to package saltwater taffy and granola and I have to add packs of peanuts, TN Whiskey, and Moon Pies! More label fun...
Did you design your labels yourself? They are adorable. I was looking around for a pic of two birds I could use. Did you create the birds yourself or is there somewhere online I could find it?
Any suggestions on where I could find some picture similar to that? I love it!
these are great! Im grabbing the idea if you don't mind! our wedding is late october here in Seattle, and Im hoping it'll be cool enough to not be out of place! Isn't nashville wraps the best?
@JavaBean: I did design the entire graphic myself, but the birds were inspired by a design from Weddingstar. You might want to check out their website and see if they have designs that you can use. They do logos on almost everything imaginable!
@Krspy1327: Steal away! I'm uber-psyched to inspire other brides. And yes, Nashville Wraps rocks the house!
Terrific idea! I bought the black pillow boxes, and black ribbon w/white flowers on them to wrap around the box. I printed circle labels with our monogram on them to stick on the top and keep the ribbon in place. I'm filling the insides with individually wrapped Wintergreen Lifesavers :)
