Except they are 23.00 a dozen...and I need....*eeep*...7 dozen.
My fiance was like..."for PAPER??!? Theyd be cheaper if u bought the real thing!!"
I cajoled...theyd last forever...keepsakes...etc etc...in vain.
Since he was already of the impression I am spending a small fortune on personalised (ie. each guest's name will be engraved on their) favors, the $160 paper "embellishments" (his word) was not about to take flight. He is of the opinion I should plop the token on their plate and make it double as a place card. (Men)
I was so excited--I didnt have any yellow paint (or anything yellow for that matter) and it was 11pm--- so I used red food coloring and medical tape LOL. I promise I will get the correct tools today!!
Heres my first one, I love her so much I plan to name her :)
Of course, this one took me approx 20 minutes...and all night to dry...and a few burnt fingers to curl! I am not looking forward to the rest of the seven dozen!
Did anyone here make their own roses? How many did u make? how long did it take? Any words of wisdom??
thats gorgeous!!! love it!!! i havent made any roses like that. i've only tried the tissue paper flowers on marthas website. ive been tempted to try my hand at these babies but havent built up the courage to do it yet. lol!
looks great! Kinda weird, I was just looking at Martha Steward coffee filter roses just this morning at work and was planning on trying it out.
it may have taken you 20 minutes for that one, but i'm guessing by the time you get the hang of it, it'll probably take half that time.. And you could always make all the petals ahead of time
ok. i gave this a second try and it worked out great! well except for the whole painting it part anyway....fyi...dont use the cheap water colors in the school supply isle. they dont even have enough paint to complete one entire rose. i think im just gonna try your food coloring idea :)
I spent about three hours on you tube searching to make the best tissue paper rose, i found a site, unfortunetly dont recall it, but make them and they turned out cute. I need to make 125 of them so i feel your pain! But now i think i may try this idea instead.. thank you so much!!!
p.s.. it should get faster the more you do it.. the first tissue paper rose took me bout 20 minutes, 10 of them later it took me bout 5 min.
I found the perfect parchment roses. Perfect!
