Oven Bake Clay Photobooth Props

posted 11 months ago in Other reception decor

This was my first time working with clay... and I'm happy with it! I'm obsessed with all of the mustaches I've made. I used a fork to score "hair" into the clay and then baked them. The heart is a wooden heart from Hobby Lobby and the clay was from the clearance section for $1.50ish. The lips was the hardest part of this project. I plan on getting more traditional glasses and mustache combos for the photo booth also!

What sorts of things are ya'll using for your photo booth?

Thanks!!! Yes we are doing our own photo booth...but doing things a little differently.

Since we have two photographers, one will be in charge of the photo booth. The guests will not get photos at the wedding. It is just a way for us to have photos of our guests. They will be able to print them from her site or once I get the rights to the photos, I can print them for them. :)

For the back drop we are using a shower curtain (one I registered for) that I can use in our house. I don't see the point in spending money on stuff unless we will use it again.

During this entire wedding process when I want something, I ask myself...can it be sold or will we use it after the wedding. If not.... I don't buy it. Also, to hang the shower curtain, we are using command hooks (which i had a coupon for) :)

Yes a regular oven... at 225 degrees F but I kept mine in a bit longer than 10 minutes... probably 14 minutes but that all depends on how thick the clay is. :) I hope this helps.

I wanted to do our own photo booth but the photographer in the family probably won't make it to our wedding so I don't know who I'd ask to do it now. :-(

I love this idea! Our photobooth has been the the one thing that is unresolved!  But I think we've settled on something simple. I had these ideas of grandeur but our big day is creeping up on us and we just don't have the time to constuct what I had planned. So, I'm setting up an area in front of the cobblestone chimney at our venue for people to pose for photos. My theme for the wedding is a vintage country chic mash up. So, I have an antique chair from the school that my Granny went to as a kid, I'm placing an antique suitcase full of props on the chair (feather boas, a top hat, huge sunglasses, mustaches, chalkboards, blow up toys and masks) I am looking for another interesting piece to place in the mix too but the taxidermist in the family isn't cooperating! lol!
