penguin cake topper

posted 1 year ago in Cake/topper

My husband found some just like this online (I LOVE penguins!) and they cost almost 10 times what the groom's cake would have.  I took some Pluffy, which is almost like a whipped clay, made the penguins and then baked them.  I then painted the tie and hair bow to match our wedding colors!  Total project cost = around $10, time spent = about an hour plus baking time.

Thanks, ladies!

@AlmostMrsB - I made them out of Pluffy, which is a really lightweight clay that you bake to harden, I'm pretty sure I bought it at Michael's.  I bought the black and the white and then purchased some small craft paints to paint the tie and bow.

@shmily18 - ME, TOO!

thanks, everyone!  @ingrid, yes!  my MIL made us a rice krispie cake for our grooms cake, which was requested by DH!  neither of us are huge fans of cake, but this one was even better than our wedding cake!
