Ran a trial run tonight for our 10-2-10 wedding. Definetly glad I did! Takes a lot of trial and error! :) I bought the sticks, bags, and ribbon at Michael's. I got the idea from a post on a wedding website (can't remember which one, just saved the refrencing site to my favorites: http://luxirare.com/float/ )
Here is how I did mine:
-Preheat 350F
-Make crust as directed on box (1 box= 16 pops)
-Used my fondant circle cutter and cut as many circles as I could
-Place stick on bottom crust about 3/4 way up
-Place small amount of filling in middle ( I put the premade filling in the food processor due to the apples being large and it made it a lot easier!)
-Place top crust and use stick to push the two crusts together (see website for reference) Make sure they are all the way together so the stick doesn't come out!
-Using egg white, brush small amount on
-Since these were apple, I sprinkled a mix of brown sugar and cinnamon. I am planning on using 3 flavors for the wedding so I will need a way to tell them apart!
-Bake for 15ish minutes
I tied the bags with plain curling ribbon this time since I didn't want to use the good ribbon I have purchased for the wedding! Our colors are black, white and red, so I found really cute black and white ribbon to use!

I Love this idea!! My onlt question would be, do you have to make them all the week of the wedding? or would there be some way to freeze them? I absolultely love the idea, but wouldn't be able to make enough for the wedding in the week leading up to it... any ideas??
Well what I did was freeze the ones I made in this trial and we are going to try them this week sometime just to see how they taste after being in the freezer for several weeks. I would suggest doing that since there really is no way of knowing. :) I definetly can't imagine making 200+ of these the week of the wedding! Good luck!
These are a fantastic idea...I am soo using them. I am curious to see how they turned out when you took them out of the freezer. Did you cook them first and then freeze them? I thought I might freeze them first and then a few days before the wedding cook them and package them.
I kinda forgot to try them, so after checking the DIY tab I saw you had commented on this and you reminded me I think assembling them and freezing would definetly be a better way! They tasted ok but not as good as when I first made them. And plus, I think the packaging would look nicer!
These sound delicious -- I would like to try with pumpkin too!
I wonder though -- could you put stand them up straight or were they pretty fragile? I was thinking I could stick the pop sticks into a foam ball in a vase or pot of some sort and have them available on the cake table...
