Table Lamp – I recycled a glass “topiary” shaped table lamp from my attic – local yard sales and auctions are veritable treasure troves where you can find beautiful rejects just waiting to be reborn
Flowers – I suggest hardy floral varieties with large, flat blooms that are long-lasting even without water (e.g. Chrysanthemums, Daisies, and Sunflowers) – I used Sunflowers and Gerbera Daisies I found at my local supermarket, Giant Food Stores
Floral Moss – available at your local Walmart or florist
Floral Tape – available at your local Walmart
“Dry” Floral Foam – I used two 7 7/8 inch (20 cm) Half Balls available at your local Walmart
Floral Pins – I used 1.75 inch (4.44 cm) long pins available at your local Walmart
3 inch (7.6 cm) Feather Butterflies – available at any craft store
Small Wicker Spheres – available at your local Walmart
Table Lamp Topiary Centerpiece Instructions
Prepare your lamp base
Secure the “dry” floral foam half spheres around the top of your lamp base, using the floral tape
Cover the foam ball with the moss, using floral pins
Wrap up the electric cord and tuck it under your lamp base
Pin a bunch of large flowers all over your moss-covered, foam ball, using floral pins
HINT: pin your biggest, most beautiful flowers in the center of the topiary ball
HINT: pin adjacent flowers on a diagonal pattern, similar to how the diamonds on pineapples grow
OPTIONAL: accent your floral topiary with faux insects – I used feather-winged butterflies and honeybees
Now, finish decorating and gather your guests. If this is your wedding day, say your “I Do’s” and live and love happily ever after!
Lovely! If I could just get my hands on some affordable vintage lamp bases this would be my centerpiece! I found 1 that was $100 :( Great job though, I'm totally inspired!
