To go with my brooch bouquets for myself and the bridesmaids, and the vintage brooch boutonierres for the men, I made brooch encrusted ring bearer pillows. I orded ring bearer pillows for 99 cents from ebay, wrapped them in brown satin, applied all the vintage brooches and pieces of jewelry, attached a fabric flower and ribbons to tie on the rings. Then I wrapped the whole thing in brown tulle.
I'm not sure what vendor... but I'm sure it was just someone selling a used one.. then I covered it in brown satin so it didn't really matter how the original one looked.. I mean I guess frankly if it was REAL DIY I would have gotten filling and sewn the satin into a pillow.. but for me it seemed easier to order one off of ebay and glue satin on the outsite of it...no reason to go crazy probably haha..
Ebay was a great help.. I had a policy not to spend very much more than a dollar per brooch. Also the Salvation Army, other thrift stores.. I also used some buttons from Joann fabrics that looked like brooches, and Michael's was having a sale so I probably got most from there. Also rings from Forever 21 are often times incredibly cheap and just have elastic on the back so they can be cut off. Also once I told people I was collecting them they would bring them over my house. I think mixing actual vintage ones with Michael's and Forever 21 allowed it to have a vintage look while taking some of the work out of collecting them.. its not as if I got them all from antique stores.
One tip for ebay, if you search for "lot of brooches" I think you get better deals than if you buy them all seperately.

Would you mind showing us the brooch boutonieres? I'm also doing a brooch bouquet (and will definitely "borrow" the brooch pillow idea), but would like to incorporate the brooches in a masculine way so they don't look out of place on the guys.
