Like kindge_03, after spotting Mrs. Mascara's and Mrs. Duckling's wedding party proposals, I knew I wanted to do something similar. So what did I do, I merged the two ideas together and added my own spin on things!
First up, the bridal party: maid of honor, bridesmaids, and a bridal attendant. I personalized the front of each card with a collage of pictures of us throughout the years. All (black) text and photos were printed on my Epson R1900, the same printer that Ms. Cola recently purchased. The colored letters were outlined letters printed on scrapbook paper and then painstakingly cut out with a craft knife.
The inside of the bridal party cards read:
Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, Will you be my Maid of Honor/Bridesmaid/Bridal Attendant? Please, Say 'I do!'
I added just a touch of embellishments using real miniature pressed roses that I'd found at Paper-Source (I later spotted them at Michael's and A.C. Moore) and Martha Stewart jeweled stickers.
Because all members of my bridal party live in another part of the country and lead busy lives, (who doesn't?) I wanted to make it clear to my bridal party what they were getting themselves into. I came up with a description of duties, attire, and my promise to them, which reads:
I promise not to make you wear an ugly dress. I promise to not become Bridezilla. I promise not to make you fold a bazillion bows for wedding favors. I promise not to give you paper cuts from putting together ceremony programs.
Next, we have the flower girls and ring bearers. I didn't have pictures of me with all the kids, so I had to improvise. The inside of the card reads:
Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, Will you be our Flower Girl/Ring Bearers? Please, Say 'I do!'
Our ring bearers are brothers, currently the age of 2 and 6 months. I figured they wouldn't mind sharing a card.
Since I post [on the web] alot of the pictures that I take, I wanted to copywrite my work. I created this logo and have since put it on everything I create. I figured if Wedding Paper Divas does it, why shouldn't I?
Can you tell me what the back of the card says? Where it says duties, attire and my promise to you? I would like to get an idea of what to put but i cant read it
Stand up with me at the altar as I make the biggest change in my life to date. Support me when I breakdown. Be completely honest when I put on the ugliest wedding gown ever, when my hair looks like a birds nest, or when my make-up makes me look like a clown. Laugh at me when I fall or run into things. But most important of all, continue being my awesome friend/confidant/rock. Oh and have fun!
Attire:
Black dress of your choice. I only ask that the length be the same for all bridesmaids. Don't worry, we'll be going dress shopping for the bonding experience. I will also leave the shoe choice up to you. You do not need to wear black shoes (I won't be wearing white ones!) nor do you need to match the other ladies. I will have someone to do your hair and make-up at no charge to you, if you wish.
My promise to you:
I promise not to make you wear an ugly dress (see above). I promise not to become Bridezilla. I promise not to make you fold a bazillion bows for wedding favors. I promise not to give you paper cuts from putting together ceremony programs.
These are so cute! I just love them. I wasn't really thinking about doing something like this for my bridal party but after seeing how cute yours turned out I have to say that I am considering changing my mine! Time to hunt down some more examples to make my own! You did an amazing job on these!! Thanks so much for the inspiration.
