NEED TO ADD MORE!!! but this is my concept colors and all.. will probably add some solid papers too... instead of all patterns.. will be adding some diamond buttons to tops of some flowers for sparkle, and wrappign the finished bouquet in bright blue ribbon... i am having black bridesmaid dresses and giving them green sparkle shoes like the ones shown below!!! let me know what you think
It's nice! I like this concept for a cheaper bouquet.
What did you attach them to? Are they all glued together or is it attached to something in the center?
I would like to try them but I think the type of guests i'm having and my FMIL might look down upon them. I'm also using an origami flower with tags attached at the center for placement 'cards' at each place setting. That might too much of one thing.
Good luck with finishing it, I would like to see your finished bouquet. Are you creating smaller versions for the BM's?
correction. i AM ONLY DOING THEM FOR BRIDSMAIDS AND BOUTS FOR THE GROOMSMES...
I will be having natural flowers as will my groom.. this is to keep us looking romantic and classic but let our friends be fun..
i used one floral wire per a flower and just when folding one petal, where you glue the edges together i would glue the wire.. Hence a stem! ..
then i used floral tape to adhere my stems.. i will upload when i finish their bouquets..
what are your colors? i think paper flowers can be great depending on yoru colors and dres... we are doing black bridesmaids and groomsmen with pops of blues and greens.. but my dress is champagne with an ivory overlay so im going to have sparkly champagne shoes for fun.. and then have beautiful flowers instead of fun ones.. does thast make sense?
i think it will go together well and set me apart without me being TOOO apart.. my flowers will have some green in them to correspond with the paper flower bouquets.
i would look at crepe paper flowers.. google them and martha stewart together.. and you could do those for a softer look with your bms.. and keep real flowers for yosuelf..
I AM just trying to save all the money in the world.. i feel like i pay attention to the booze and music at a wedding not the centerpieces and what not.. so im going as cheap as i can for those things and spending the big bucks on some music and drinks! :D
if i can find the right color papers and learn to make crepe papers i will FOR SURE make my own bouquet!!! keep you posted i promise!
a girl on etsy makes them.. and i almost ordered some.. and if i get sick of making them i will use her... but you could try her as well...
here is one of her bouquets on a bride in white satin.. thougth id let you see it so you could see that it can be classy/funky!!!
Thanks for the information. I realized after I wrote you how you would put it together by looking at the etsy sellers. I created flowers like that with stems but added a 'bud' in the middle. I have them loosely in a vase at work and I got a lot of compliments.
I definitely don't need convincing that they can be still classy looking but it'll be over kill with all of the origami flowers already on the reception tables. I even sort of regretted using them that way, as it's a long process folding 325 petals and I cut the 6x6 squares from 12x12 scrapbook paper. I have a post on the ones I created.
I just wish I would've done the bouquet instead but too late. And I'm pretty sure my FMIL definitely wants to see real flowers.
i know the amount of time it takes to make these things hollllyyy mollllllyyyy
DId you use different sizes of flowers? I found a seller on etsy who uses 3 different sizes on the bride's boquet. Also, how are you going to do the guys bou's? I am trying to figure that out as well. Thanks! Looks great btw! :)
